Bikini Bandit? 5 Craziest Crimes of the Week

It's hot out West, and an alleged criminal dressing accordingly was among the strangest police-blotter items of the week:

• Police Hunt for Bikini-Clad Suspect: "An individual wanted for questioning" is how the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office describes her, but it's the unusual outfit grabbing everyone's attention. The unidentified woman was sporting a bikini when cops say she took items from two different locations. Police think they know how she got away, too.
• Cops Say Man's Party Van Is a Little Much: There's a line where a dope sound system crosses over into the realm of illegality, and it's probably somewhere around speaker number 40. The NYPD police received multiple calls complaining about "exorbitantly loud" music coming from a white van and arrested a van owner with even more speakers than that. His rationalization sounds like it could be a motto for a T-shirt.

• Thieves Steal a Staggering Amount of Beer: Maybe they were planning an epic party? Police in Atlanta say thieves stole two refrigerated trucks carrying 3,272 cases of beer—or about 78,500 bottles worth $90,000—from a craft brewery. Cops actually found about a quarter of the cases, but there's a twist that beer fans will find very depressing.
• Woman Banned From 524M Acres of Public Land: Casey Nocket left her mark on national parks across the West, but she won't be able to go back and reminisce anytime soon. The 23-year-old San Diego woman pleaded guilty to defacing rock formations in seven parks, and for the next two years, she's persona non grata on 524 million acres of public land, or 20% of the US. Here's what did her in.
• Man Dies Next to $12M Worth of Pot: Police in Georgia found a 31-year-old man slumped over next to a van, dead from what is believed to be natural causes. As they were waiting for medical examiners to show up, deputies say they caught a whiff of something from the van, then followed their noses to $12 million worth of marijuana. It seems the plan was to load the goods into a tractor-trailer and drive away, but first he was waiting on one important lesson.
