Three others were injured and hospitalized in critical condition. Police say it appears to be a family dispute, and all the victims in Pawtucket are believed to be adults. Shooter: Police have identified the shooter as Robert Dorgan, age 56 or 57, who also went by Roberta Esposito, reports the Providence Journal. Motive: Unclear, but Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves said victims include members of the suspect's family and a family friend, suggesting a domestic issue, per NBC News. "It appears that a lone individual, the suspect, entered the arena to watch the hockey game of a family member—and unfortunately, during that time a shooting occurred," said the chief. Bystander: "A good Samaritan stepped in and interjected in the scene, and that's probably what led to a swift end of this tragic event," said Goncalves. She said the bystander attempted to subdue the shooter, but no details were provided. Police say it appears the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, reports the AP. Relative: "My father was the shooter," a young woman leaving the Pawtucket Police Department tells WCVB. "He shot my family, and he's dead now." She added that "he has mental health issues."
