Boy Hid as Parents Stabbed to Death

A sad new twist in the case of a California couple that was murdered last year: Warrants show their 9-year-old boy hid behind a couch during stabbing. The child apparently ran to get his mother's purse to appease the attacker, but hid in the living room after hearing his mother scream, reports the AP. Joshua Graham Packer, 20, was arrested in April for the murder of the child's parents, Brock and Davina Husted, both 42, and their unborn child.

DNA evidence linked the suspect to the crime, which occurred at the Husted's Ventura beach house, but there is a strange discrepancy in the case, notes the AP. They boy described the attacker as dark-skinned African American with blue eyes and a deep voice. Packer is white. Police maintain the suspect was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the attack.
