Crime | OJ Simpson OJ Appeals Vegas Convictions Says jury selection unfair; cites judicial misconduct By Newser Editors and Wire Services Posted May 26, 2009 2:21 PM CDT Copied In this Oct. 3, 2008, file photo, OJ Simpson is taken into custody after being found guilty on charges including felony kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy in Las Vegas. (AP Photo) OJ Simpson is appealing to the Nevada Supreme Court to overturn his conviction on Las Vegas armed robbery and kidnapping charges. Today's filing alleges the ex-football star's conviction in a hotel-room confrontation with two sports memorabilia dealers was tainted by judicial misconduct, a lack of racial diversity on the jury and errors in sentencing and jury instructions. The document criticizes Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass and accuses prosecutors of improperly questioning witnesses about allegations of intimidation. It could take a year or more for justices to issue a ruling. Simpson was convicted last October and is serving 9 to 33 years in state prison.
