10 Seriously Unlucky Irish Accents in Film

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Irish Central ranks the worst Irish accents to hit the big screen.

  • Sean Connery, "the gold standard to judge against all other bad Irish accents," takes the No. 1 and 2 spots, for Darby O'Gill and the Little People in 1959 and The Untouchables in 1987. 

  • Julia Roberts also gets two nods, for Michael Collins and Mary Reilly...though she even had a voice coach.
  • Kevin Spacey's accent slipped "into American every fifth sentence or so in Ordinary Decent Criminal.
  • Other winners—or losers: Tommy Lee Jones in Blown Away and Tom Cruise in Far and Away. And don't forget the Leprechaun in Leprechaun. He should know better.
