FBI Agent Got Cozy With Sources in Stevens Probe

New details emerged yesterday in an ethics complaint against an FBI investigator in the corruption probe that took down former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens, the Anchorage Daily News reports, including allegations the female agent wore a skirt in court to please a source. Mary Beth Kepner is also alleged to have accepted a job for her husband and a painting of her dog.

The complaint, from fellow agent Chad Joy, had been heavily redacted prior to yesterday’s ruling from a federal judge; Stevens’ attorneys are using it as part of their appeal effort. “Kepner does not wear skirts,” Joy wrote of the agent dressing for the benefit of oil exec Bill Allen, the prosecution’s star witness. “She advised it was a surprise/present for Allen.”
