The members of the band Heart aren’t pleased that the GOP has been using their song “Barracuda” as Sarah Palin’s theme, reports Entertainment Weekly. Palin’s nickname since high school has been “Sarah Barracuda.” After a mild statement failed to stop the Republicans from using the song a second time, Ann and Nancy Wilson released an emphatic denunciation.
“Sarah Palin's views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image,” wrote the band members. They pointed out the "irony" of the use of this song, which uses the word “barracuda” to represent the “soulless, corporate” music industry. (More Sarah Palin stories.)
