(AP Photo/Chris Carlson) Michelle Obama says her foremost role as first lady would be as “mom-in-chief,” helping her daughters settle into life in the White House and “making sure they know they will continue to be the center of our universe.” In a wide-ranging interview with Ebony, she described the would-be president as her best accessory, AP reports. “The best thing I love having on me is Barack on my arm.” “Barack and I—as partners, as friends, and as lovers—we accessorize each other in many ways,” she said, adding that she loves “having him standing there smiling at me, or watching him mesmerize a crowd or talk to some seniors in a senior center.” Obama wants to highlight women's work-life struggles in governmental policy, via better health care and family leave—particularly for military wives, who lack "sustained mental health support" while their husbands are deployed.
