Netflix has changed its tune two months after refusing to remove footage of a 2013 rail disaster from its hit film Bird Box. "We're sorry for any pain caused to the Lac-Mégantic community" of Quebec, the company says in a statement to the BBC. The clip from the disaster that killed 47 people, obtained from a stock imagery company and used to depict a fictional disaster scenario, will be replaced. The Canadian production company behind Netflix's Travelers earlier removed footage of Lac-Mégantic's downtown core in flames from the show's third season, but Netflix said the clips would remain in its most-watched original film, per Entertainment Weekly. It gave no reason for the alteration. The process of removal is expected to take several weeks. (Coming to Netflix: Goop.)
