Suit: Frat Brothers Played Game to See Who Assaulted Woman
Christian Lopez, 26, and Nakeem Gardner, 20, pleaded guilty to second degree sexual assault.   (Bergen County Prosecutor's Office)

As she lay unconscious in a bedroom, her two rapists played "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to determine which one would assault her first. That horrific claim appears in a lawsuit brought against New Jersey's Ramapo College by a student who was sexually assaulted in 2014. The victim, given the alias Jane Jones, claims school officials failed to prevent the crime and created a "hostile educational environment" with its "deliberate indifference" toward underage drinking and sexual assault on campus, reports the New York Daily News. Her five alleged assailants, meanwhile, have been indicted—two were offered eight years in prison for sexual assault, while three others were offered terms of less than a year for failing to aid the victim and filming her while she was nude—caused lasting emotional distress in addition to physical injuries.

Jones says she was called to a party at the college's Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, where a member had been tasked with getting girls drunk, on Nov. 14, 2014. Jones, then 19, says she passed out from alcohol, then was placed in a bedroom while two frat brothers played "Rock, Paper, Scissors" just outside the door. After she was assaulted, Jones was moved to a dorm across campus "without her shoes, underwear, and jacket" and assaulted again while others "watched and celebrated," the suit reads, per the New York Post. The assaults, which caused Jones to drop out of school, have "derailed" her future, the suit states. A Ramapo rep says the college can't comment as it hasn't received the suit, but notes a plan is in place to improve student safety, per Patch.com. (More sexual assault stories.)
