Ray Rice's NFL Suspension Thrown Out

Ex-Ravens running back Ray Rice won his appeal against the NFL after a US district judge judge overturned his suspension from the league, the NFL Players Association announced today. Rice—who was suspended indefinitely after video showed him allegedly physically assaulting his then-fiancee (now his wife)—is now eligible to sign with any NFL team. In the judge's decision, said to be obtained by ESPN reporter Don Van Natta Jr., she writes that Rice didn't lie or mislead NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and that "the Commissioner needed to be fair and consistent in his imposition of discipline." An NFL spokesman asked by ESPN if the NFL would go forward with any other action against Rice replied, "We, of course, accept the ruling as binding."
