Indiana used a 2-3 zone defense and dominance on the boards to slow pesky Northwestern, winning 75-63 at Assembly Hall to break a two-game losing streak and improve to 18-3 overall. The Wildcats apparently didn't have an answer for Indiana's Eric Gordon and DJ White, who scored 29 and 26 points respectively. Northwestern's coach praised the productive pair.

"Those two guys really killed us today," said Bill Carmody, whose team amazingly hasn't won at Indiana since 1968. Gordon shot 8-for-14, including six three-pointers despite a sprained wrist that slowed him in the Hoosiers' loss to Wisconsin on Thursday. Indiana's zone held the Wildcats to 25% shooting in the final 12 minutes after NU's excellent first-half kept it close. (More Big Ten Conference stories.)
