UConn bounced back from two straight losses with its first win over a Top 25 opponent in nearly two years, 89-73, over No. 13 Marquette (13-4). Sophomore Hasheem Thabeet had 15 points, seven boards and six blocked shots, saying "we had poise today." The Huskies shot 56% from the field and were lights out on free-throws, converting 33 of 39.

Huskies coach Jim Calhoun's motivational ploy of posting the remaining schedule in the locker room Friday apparently worked as his team shot 56% and had a 29-point lead at one point in the second half. Marquette boss Tom Crean was concerned with his team's second-straight poor showing saying "we have to play with our hair on fire to be good."
