After losing a tough double-overtime affair at Toronto Sunday, Portland showed resilience tonight, winning with ease 99-73 over inconsistent New Jersey. Five players hit double figures in scoring for the visiting Blazers for their 18th win in 20 games, according to the AP. LeMarcus Aldridge's 20 points was tops for Portland, as it shot an excellent 53% from the field.
"We were more in charge and once we got rolling it just kept going," said Aldridge. The Nets, meanwhile, could have used some mortar to go with the bricks they put up, shooting a paltry 33% and getting only 29 points from the star trio of Carter, Kidd and Jefferson. "We weren't ready to play," said Nets coach Lawrence Frank. (More NBA stories.)
