Stoic German iPhone fans queued in the rain yesterday to buy the multimedia devices, reports Reuters. A few hundred of the most devoted arrived at a T-Mobile store Cologne at midnight for the very first models, but famously skeptical Frankfurters were less impressed. "Really? No, I had no idea," about the launch said one woman walking by T-Mobile’s shop.

"I'm astonished there's no one else here," said one lonely computer programmer, waiting for the Frankfurt shop to open.” The phones go on sale in the UK today. The phones attracted lines lasting days in their US launch this summer, but maker Apple later drew fire from early adopters for dropping the price by $100 soon after the launch.
